Such simple words that hold such heavy meaning. I try to teach my children this daily... Whenever they squabble over a toy (which I
might add, is VERY often!) This verse is referred to as the Golden rule.
Recently, I was reading a Berenstein Bears book about this verse to
Hannah. In the book, Sister bear excluded a new girl from her play group at school. She felt very guilty about it and remembered a time when she was excluded and how she felt. Her mommy taught her about the golden rule and she went to school the next day and treated the new
girl how she would have wanted to be treated! She invited her to join her play group!
What a great book about this verse! When we are tempted to treat others less than well, we need to remember that God loves us and created each of us equally no matter our abilities, appearance or talents! I admit, sometimes that is a very hard thing to do!!!!! Lord, please help us to treat others the way we want to be treated remembering that you love us and created us equally!!!!! Amen.
